Vehicle Sales Executive, Leicester (with UK travel)

At MWS, we help businesses trust what they weigh. We’re also moving towards employee ownership, so the people who help grow the business will share in it. We’re looking for a proactive Vehicle Sales Executive who enjoys finding and winning new business.

The role

You’ll sell MWS vehicle weighing products, from portable weigh pads, fixed axle weighing systems and full weighbridge solutions, to businesses that run commercial vehicles across the UK.

You’ll own the whole sales process: generating leads and making first contact, through demonstrations and quotations, to follow-up and after-sales support. You’ll report to our Commercial Director.

Inbound enquiries are part of the role, but most of the work involves creating opportunities: making outbound calls, following up quotes and keeping deals moving. We’ll give you thorough product training and the freedom to manage your own workload, self-motivation is essential.

What you’ll do

  • Pick up inbound enquiries quickly and follow up every new lead
  • Find new business through outbound calls, prospecting, networking and referrals
  • Run customer meetings and product demonstrations, remotely and on site
  • Prepare quotations in line with MWS pricing, then follow them through to a decision
  • Check in after each sale to make sure the customer is happy and spot what else they need, such as repeat orders, additional products or service agreements
  • Keep Pipedrive accurate and current, with a clear next step and follow-up date on every live deal
  • Work towards agreed sales targets and KPIs, and keep the Commercial Director up to date on performance, pipeline and the support you need
  • Work with our technical, service and operations colleagues to give customers a smooth experience
  • Represent MWS at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in a sales or business development role, with evidence of working towards and achieving targets
  • Confidence on the phone, whether you’re prospecting, following up or moving a deal forward
  • The initiative to generate your own opportunities rather than relying on inbound leads
  • Strong follow-up and closing skills, and the persistence to keep a deal moving
  • The self-discipline to organise your own workload without the need for close supervision
  • An organised, detail-focused approach to CRM records and your pipeline
  • Clear, professional written and spoken communication, including emails, quotations and customer correspondence
  • A practical, resilient attitude: when a deal stalls, you look for the next action and take responsibility for the result
  • Confidence with IT systems, including CRM software and Microsoft Office
  • A willingness to learn technical product detail and how vehicle weighing is used
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK

Is this role for you?

This role will suit you if you:

  • Enjoy planning your own day and deciding who to contact
  • Take ownership of your quotes and follow them up without prompting
  • See a quiet pipeline as a prompt to find new opportunities
  • Are comfortable picking up the phone and making first contact

Bonus points for

  • Experience selling technical products, industrial equipment or business-to-business solutions
  • CRM experience
  • Knowledge of the commercial vehicle, transport, logistics or vehicle weighing sectors
  • Experience running product demonstrations and managing a pipeline through to completion

Why MWS

  • Proper training. We’ll train you on our vehicle weighing products, technical applications, systems and sales process, working closely with experienced sales and technical colleagues.
  • Room to grow. Vehicle sales is a growing part of our business, and there’s scope to take on more responsibility and build a career in technical sales as it grows.
  • Visible impact. We’re a team of around 30. Your results show, and they matter.
