MWS Employee Appreciation Day 2026: A Day to Reflect, Recognise and Look Ahead
On Friday 19 June, the MWS team came together for our second annual Employee Appreciation Day.
With colleagues based across our Leicester and Durham offices, as well as engineers working on customer sites throughout the UK, opportunities to get everyone together in one place are rare. Employee Appreciation Day gives us the chance to do exactly that: reflect on what we’ve achieved, recognise the people who make it possible, and share our plans for the future.

Regarder vers l'avenir
The day began with a presentation from Managing Director Andrew Clarke, who shared an update on MWS’s vision, mission and values, along with the company’s long-term direction.
A key focus was MWS’s ambition to become an employee-owned business by 2031. While there is still work to do, Andrew explained how the decisions being made today are helping to build a strong, sustainable business that can ultimately be owned by the people who contribute to its success every day.
As part of the presentation, Andrew also introduced a number of new employee benefits that will be rolled out across the business, complementing the range of support and benefits already available to employees.
The new additions reflect MWS’s ongoing commitment to investing in its people and creating a workplace where employees can thrive both personally and professionally.
Quality matters
The morning continued with a presentation from Annie McNeely, MWS’s QMS Consultant, who spoke about the role quality management systems play within the business.
Her presentation highlighted how quality management extends far beyond compliance requirements. It underpins continuous improvement, supports customer satisfaction, and helps ensure MWS consistently delivers the high standards our customers expect.
A new service incentive scheme
Rounding out the presentations was the introduction of a new service incentive scheme introduced by our Commercial Director Lindsay Clarke, which is designed to recognise and reward performance across the service team.

Celebrating long service
One of the highlights of the day was recognising employees who have reached significant service milestones.
Rachel Chadd, Christine McDonald and Daniel Brown were each presented with a certificate and an additional day’s annual leave in recognition of five years’ service with MWS.
Dylan Narsing was recognised for ten years with the business. Having joined MWS as an apprentice, Dylan now leads the Production Department, making his journey a great example of the career development opportunities available within the company. To mark the occasion, he received a certificate, an additional day’s annual leave and a commemorative watch.
Food, conversation and team time
Lunch was once again provided by Wolf & Bear, who served a selection of burgers alongside vegan and halal options.
More importantly, it gave colleagues the opportunity to spend time together away from their day-to-day responsibilities. For a business spread across multiple locations, these informal conversations are often just as valuable as the presentations themselves.
Following the final presentation in the afternoon, employees were free to head home early and enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

Building a business people are proud to be part of
Employee Appreciation Day is about more than presentations, benefits or awards. It is an opportunity to recognise the contribution every employee makes to the success of MWS and to reinforce the culture we are continuing to build.
As MWS works towards its goal of becoming an employee-owned business, investing in people remains a key part of that journey. Events like Employee Appreciation Day provide an opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come and the future we’re building together.
