Regal Foods Expands Beverage Portfolio with Acquisition of Suncrest

Bradford-based Regal Foods has added another well-loved brand to its extensive food and drink empire, acquiring soft drinks producer Suncrest for an undisclosed sum.

The Yorkshire manufacturer, renowned for its diverse range of snacks, baked goods, and beverages, confirmed the purchase this week, marking another milestone in its ambitious growth journey.

The deal sees Suncrest – a tropical fruit-flavoured drinks specialist – join Regal’s line-up of over 380 products, which already includes established names such as the Yorkshire Bakery Company and Just Desserts Yorkshire.

A Tropical Favourite Joins the Regal Family

Founded in 1985, Suncrest has long held a reputation for delivering refreshing, exotic drinks to consumers both in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Its portfolio stretches across both still and carbonated ranges, with products available in bottles, cans, and cartons. Popular flavours include mango, tropical, lychee, guava, coconut water, aloe vera, and the South Asian staple, lassi.

For Regal, the brand is a perfect addition. The company’s Chief Executive Officer expressed excitement over the deal, commenting that they are delighted to welcome Suncrest into the Regal Foods family.

As a well-loved and recognisable soft drinks brand, Suncrest is a natural fit for their expanding beverage portfolio and supports their long-term growth strategy. They are particularly excited to reintroduce Suncrest to consumers, with a focus on new product development and innovation to drive the brand forward.

Perfect Timing Ahead of Diwali

To celebrate the acquisition, Regal has announced that new Suncrest bottle variants will soon be hitting Asda shelves nationwide.

Just in time for Diwali, the festival of lights, the refreshed packaging will showcase some of Suncrest’s most popular flavours, including mango, tropical, lychee, and guava.

This timely reintroduction highlights Regal’s commitment not only to growing its beverage arm but also to recognising and celebrating cultural occasions that resonate strongly with its consumer base.

Regal’s Journey from Local Bakery to Global Food Group

Headquartered in Bradford, Regal Foods has come a long way since its inception in 2001. What began as a small supplier of bakery goods to local grocery stores – primarily catering to the needs of the South Asian community – has since evolved into a global food group.

Today, Regal’s portfolio spans bakery, confectionery, snacks, and drinks, with a presence across both retail and food service sectors.

The acquisition of Suncrest underscores the company’s strategy of broadening its appeal and diversifying its offerings, all while keeping quality and consumer demand at the heart of its operations.

Conclusion

With Suncrest now part of the Regal family, the Yorkshire-based food giant has strengthened its position as a leading player in the UK’s food and drink sector.

The move not only widens Regal’s already vast portfolio but also breathes new life into a much-loved drinks brand, ensuring it remains a staple for both long-time fans and new consumers alike.
