Taylor Farms Acquires Natures Way Foods in Transatlantic Salad Deal

Chichester-based Natures Way Foods has been acquired by Taylor Farms, the North American salads and fresh foods producer, in a transaction with financial terms undisclosed.

Taylor Farms said the move will expand its global footprint and speed up the introduction of fresh, healthy products tailored to evolving consumer trends.

Founded as a specialist in bagged salads, coleslaw and potato salad, Natures Way Foods supplies major UK retailers – including Tesco and Aldi – as well as a wide range of foodservice customers.

The company employs 1,300 people across four production sites in Selsey, Runcton, Merston and Drayton. As part of the deal, all current employees, executives and the management team will remain with the business, ensuring continuity for customers and partners.

A strategic fit for both sides

Taylor Farms operates a broad network of facilities across the United States, Canada and Mexico, with a growing presence in Western Europe.

By bringing Natures Way Foods into the fold, both companies say they will collaborate to share best practice, accelerate growth and co-develop new products aligned with demand for convenient, nutritious, high-quality fresh food.

What it means for UK shoppers and customers

For United Kingdom retailers and foodservice operators, the tie-up promises greater innovation capacity, consistent supply and an expanded pipeline of ready-to-eat and ready-to-prepare salad lines.

With Natures Way Foods’ established UK footprint and Taylor Farms’ global scale, the combined group aims to strengthen quality, service and value – three pillars Natures Way Foods says underpin its long-standing customer relationships.

Leadership signals confidence

Taylor Farms’ Chairman and CEO framed the acquisition as an extension of the company’s core mission: to deliver fresh, healthy and delicious foods that enhance well-being and quality of life.

This is a mission the business is now pursuing beyond North America with renewed intent.

Natures Way Foods’ CEO called the moment an exciting time for the Chichester business, describing the partnership with the globally respected Taylor Fresh Foods group as a testament to the team’s exceptional work.

Joining the Taylor family, the CEO added, will enable Natures Way Foods to invest further, innovate faster and share best practice, all while keeping its commitment to customers at the centre of operations.

Continuity with capacity to grow

Crucially, the decision to retain the existing workforce and leadership provides stability as integration begins, while offering employees access to a broader international platform.

For both companies, the emphasis is on measured expansion, product development and operational excellence – without disrupting the service levels their customers rely on.

Conclusion

Taylor Farms’ purchase of Natures Way Foods pairs a UK market leader in fresh prepared salads with a North American powerhouse in healthy convenience foods.

With financials undisclosed but strategic intent clear – to expand globally, share best practice and accelerate innovation – the deal positions the combined business to meet rising demand for fresh, high-quality, value-driven products across retail and foodservice.

For staff, customers and consumers alike, this is a continuity-first partnership with the capacity to grow, diversify and deliver.
