MWS carries out UKAS calibration services to ensure your weighing equipment is tested and calibrated to national standards. The UKAS service we offer gives you the assurance that your equipment is operating at its optimum capability and accuracy.
As we are located in Leicester, our local scale engineers cover the whole of the Midlands region for weighing equipment calibration to traceable standards ISO 9001 and UKAS ISO17025.
We offer a fast response with reasonable rates for all Midlands located companies.
What’s included in our Midlands UKAS Calibration Service
- UKAS survey prior to work commencing
- Each scale or balance is cleaned and checked for correct functionality
- Label with traceability information
- As Found and Definitive Certificates in PDF format
- Any damage, faults or findings are reported on the standard service report
UKAS Documentation
The MWS UKAS calibration team visits client sites to carry out routine preventative maintenance and traceable calibration. All documentation is produced in electronic PDF format and stored on a Calibration Portal. This ensures clients can easily request or download their own certificates in the event of them being misplaced.

Steven comes to MWS with over 15 years of experience in the weighing industry. Steven works from our North East service centre in County Durham.

James lives in the Midlands and supports our client calibrations and breakdowns.

Service Engineer
John joined MWS in September 2020. He operates from our North East Service Centre alongside Steven Bowles and James Nattrass. John is an experienced engineer with high competence in UKAS calibrations.

Daniel Brown
Workshop Engineer
Daniel has recently moved to the UK from Jamaica where he worked in the weighing industry for nearly 20 years. He joins MWS as a workshop engineer looking after customer repairs and works closely with Harry.

Joining MWS in 2022 as a Trainee Engineer, Med has a thirst for knowledge and is a fast learner.

Service Engineer
Gerald emigrated from Jamaica to the UK and joined the company mid 2022 under a sponsorship VISA, he has 6 years experience in industrial weighing.

Alex joined as a trainee and works closely with James Nattrass, operating from the Midlands office he is carrying out routine calibrations.

Orville emigrated from Jamaica to the UK and joined the company in 2023, having previously worked as a scale service technician.

Apprentice Service Engineer
Harry is currently working towards his NVQ Level 3 in engineering. He works closely with the other service engineers and is a valued member of the team already.

Business Administrator
Rachel joined MWS in July 2021 to support the service team alongside Darren and Gary. Rachel looks after spare parts and schedules weigh pad calibrations.
