Eden Mill’s Golf Gin Tees Off Nationwide with Waitrose Listing

Independent Scottish distiller Eden Mill has officially secured its first nationwide supermarket listing, launching its innovative Golf Gin in 202 Waitrose stores across the United Kingdom

This exclusive three-month deal marks a significant milestone for the brand, positioning the St Andrews-based gin as a national contender in the premium spirits market.

The newly designed Golf Gin bottle is more than just a nod to aesthetics – it encapsulates the heritage and story of its birthplace. Dubbed the world’s first spirit distilled with botanicals foraged directly from the iconic Old Course at St Andrews, the gin pays homage to the historic town that Eden Mill proudly calls home.

Eden Mill’s Chief Executive Officer stated that St Andrews is the beating heart of their brand. As the historical home of golf, they have always wanted to authentically link their Golf Gin to this world-famous town. Foraging botanicals from the Old Course has allowed them to do just that.

The UK-wide Waitrose listing offers an ideal platform for the brand to showcase its craftsmanship to a broader audience.

The supermarket’s spirits buyer echoed the excitement, expressing that they know their customers love discovering new, story-rich spirits. Eden Mill’s Golf Gin, with its connection to the Old Course and its sustainable production methods, fits the bill to a tee.

The gin is a London Dry style and is now available exclusively through Waitrose grocery channels across the country. In addition to the retail rollout, Eden Mill will continue to offer the product via their website and physical retail stores.

This major listing follows hot on the heels of another milestone – the opening of Eden Mill’s state-of-the-art distillery on the University of St Andrews’ Eden Campus. Just an eight-minute drive from the Old Course, and visible from the sixth hole across the Eden Estuary, the new facility has already commenced production of both gin and whisky.

Furthermore, a world-class visitor centre is on track to open in August 2025, promising an immersive brand experience in the heart of Scotland’s east coast.

With golf participation booming since 2020 and showing no signs of slowing, Eden Mill believes the time is ripe to offer gin lovers and golf enthusiasts alike the perfect tipple to toast the sport’s continued growth.

In Conclusion

As the brand gears up to resume whisky production and lay down hundreds of casks filled with their new-make spirit, Golf Gin stands as a testament to Eden Mill’s innovative spirit and deep-rooted connection to the land.

From the greens of the Old Course to supermarket shelves nationwide, this gin is more than a drink – it’s a celebration of heritage, sport, and sustainability.
