Microkerf has been investing in technology to stay ahead of the competition and ensure their products remain of the highest quality. This is important because it allows them to maintain a high level of precision and accuracy in their manufacturing process, ensuring that their customers receive the best possible product. Additionally, it helps them to keep costs down by reducing the need for manual labour. As a result, Microkerf is able to offer their customers competitive prices while still providing a high-quality product.

Microkerf’s success has been partly due to their quick turnaround time for customer quotes and their ability to deliver usually within 24 hours. This is crucial for customers who need parts quickly and cannot afford delays. Decades ago, the company created its own integrated software for creating quotes. Back then, they were one of the first companies in the industry to do so.

Green Initiatives

Microkerf is committed to being a responsible member of the community and strives to make a positive difference in the world through sustainable practices. The company is a proud supporter of renewable energy and is committed to using clean, green energy sources whenever possible. It has also invested in LED lighting and electric forklifts to help reduce its energy consumption.

Emissions are a problem in manufacturing because of the nature of the process and materials. By investing in new technologies, Microkerf has been able to reduce its emissions which is an important step in protecting the environment and reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

Investing in British Manufacturing

As proud British manufacturers, it is important for MWS to work with UK-based partners and suppliers. This ensures a high level of quality throughout the manufacturing process while also reducing the business’ overall carbon footprint.

Ross Tyrell, MWS’ Fabrication Design Engineer, works closely with Microkerf to oversee the cutting and folding process for the scales designed by MWS. These components are then returned to MWS’ Leicester headquarters to be welded and fabricated, assembled, bead blasted, tested and finally packaged up and shipped off for installation on customer sites.

Commenting on the partnership, Ross says MWS benefits from Microkerf’s “incredible expertise and wealth of experience in laser cutting and folding.” He adds, “Having their knowledge in place to help guide us through our own design processes allows us to offer our customers the most cutting edge and cost-effective solutions in the weighing industry.”
