Micro Weighing Solutions Receives 2023 Accreditations with Zero Non-conformances

UKAS ISO 17025 and ISO 9001:2015 audits passed with flying colours

Leicester, Durham, 31st January 2023 – Micro Weighing Solutions, the independent UK manufacturer of industrial weighing equipment, today announced it has received zero non-conformances for its recent UKAS ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 audits.

ISO 9001 specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organisations with ISO 9001 accreditation are able to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. A key component of the audit is to show continuous improvement.

Following the decision by the National Measurements Office in 2022 to no longer provide commercial conformity assessment body services under NAWI, MWS chose to move its ISO 9001 activities to SGS, a renowned global accreditation body.

Having an established and maintained management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001, MWS has the authority to implement the Option B UKAS ISO 17025 standard.

The UKAS ISO 17025 standard has been developed to support the provision of accurate and reliable results from testing, calibration, sampling and measurement services across many sectors. Conducted annually, some of the areas covered by the UKAS audit include employee training, equipment management, procedures and the labs facilities.

Kelvin Cooper, Operations Director, Micro Weighing Solutions, said, “With our ISO accreditations, our customers can rest easy knowing that our systems and processes are benchmarked to the highest standards within the industry. This ensures they will be fully compliant with regulations and can continue to expect reliable results from their equipment and services.

Andrew Clarke, Managing Director, Micro Weighing Solutions, adds, “I’m incredibly proud of the entire team for passing both audits with flying colours. It is unusual for an organisation to receive zero non-conformances, and it just goes to show how seriously we take our commitment to providing the best service possible for our clients, starting with our internal processes through to the delivery of our services onsite.”

MWS’ UKAS accreditation underlines its commitment to upholding the highest levels of competence and consistency in its calibration activities.
