Pilgrim’s UK Announces New Factory Investment of £800k

As part of its continuing pursuit to make operations more effective across all its UK sites, pork processor Pilgrim’s UK has announced it will invest £800,000 in its Bromborough facility.

The manufacturer installed two new inline processes that will help the packaging process go faster and increase capacity.

After the installation was completed, Pilgrim’s expected to increase its production of some of its most popular items – like pork kebabs, steaks, boneless leg and shoulder joints – by 10% each week.

A portion of the investment was used to create a new dusting facility. This allowed products to be seasoned with herbs and spices more efficiently, coating both the top and bottom of each product at the same time. During the whole of summer, the facility was used to meet the needs of Pilgrim’s retail customers in the UK, who mostly wanted kebabs and steaks.

Julian Weeks, Director commented on the investment: “This latest investment is part of our ongoing strategic focus on increasing operational efficiency across our UK business and innovating to deliver the most exciting new products for our customers.”
