£300m Debut Fund to Transform UK Food Supply

Isara, a food sector-focused investment specialist based in Leeds, has launched a £300m fund with the goal of improving efficiency, quality and sustainability across UK, Ireland and Western Europe food supply systems.

Isara Ventures is focused on food production and distribution businesses with the ultimate goal of transformation in the existing food ecosystem. With this investment, Isara will help to ease the burden of rising inflation, the Covid-19 pandemic, labour shortages, and a heightened focus on sustainability.

Michael Rice leads the team of investors, who have extensive experience working with businesses and management teams in the food industry. These include Eight Fifty Food Group, Orchard House Foods, Chaucer Foods, West Cornwall Pasty Co., Heron Foods and Seabrooks.

The Sadel Group, a private family office which invests in Real Estate, Cold Storage and Energy sectors primarily based in the UK & Western Europe, is the backers of this fund.
