Sainsbury’s to Support Entrepreneurial Business

Sainsbury’s has launched two new initiatives to support entrepreneurial business in the supply chain.

The company has also announced the launch of its Sainsbury’s Innovation Investments, which will invest at least £5m over the next four years into start-ups commercialising cutting-edge, environmentally beneficial technologies that look to reduce operational carbon emissions and water usage in the food sector.

Aside from offering critical investment, Sainsbury’s is seeking to speed up dynamic start-ups and small/medium enterprises (SMEs) in developing, testing, and deploying transformative technology that can reduce carbon emissions and water usage.

Thrive with Sainsbury’s‘ is a free 16-week program for Black founder-led firms on their path from start-up to supermarket shelves, providing essential funding, hands-on coaching and expert guidance.

The programme is open to small and medium-sized food and beverage companies seeking to expand but are facing one of several challenges.

The successful participants of the programme, created and run in collaboration with Foundervine and Mission Ventures, will receive a £20,000 welcome grant as well as 1:1 personal assistance.
